NP231 input gear replacement

In the course of swapping my 3550 for a Novak AX15, it looks like I need to replace the input gear on my transfer case according to Novak. I had not planned this.... Question is, do I need to replace the input bearing since I was not having any trouble? Or is it one of those 'ofd it now since you're in there' sort of things?

(I swapped like you did and did not change inputs. Not as long as you would choose, but seems OK.)

Yes... as part of the kit, I was sent (and paid for) a 23SNLS (gear, input, new process 23x & 24x transfer cases, 23 spline, short, narrow bearing, late cut, Jeep). Having read a little here... I am curious if I need to... and how to find out if I do or don't.
