Certainly not new to Jeeps in general. I have build many many from CJ, TJ, JK, JL and JT.

Currently I have a JT Ecodiesel Rubicon but the reason I am here is I just bought a 2003 TJ 4.0 Manual yesterday. Pretty stock but has a ROUGH country lift. That will be replaced with either MetalCloak or Rock Krawler. Already purchased 4 hole injectors and tune up stuff. Prob will need a coil pack as well.

Problems currently is that the hvac is stuck on vent....I am sure I hear a vacuum leak under the hood and it seems to be hard to start....crank...stop crank....then crank again then starts....I am thinking crank position sensor but I need to do more diagnosis before I get there.

Looking forward to the journey.

Welcome, the vacuum system is pretty basic. If you need new check valves I found Motorcraft ones which are identical to OEM Jeep ones, lemme know and I'll look them up. There's one right by the firewall where the HVAC vacuum tees off to the reservoir under the battery and into the cabin, and another one by the manifolds. Also look in the resources section here for your FSM.

For the long crank check to see if your rail pressure is dropping after shutdown.

I bought my 2000 TJ up there in Flag.

Thank you very much for the tips....I'm planning on working on it on Thanksgiving.
