Need wheel advice for axle swap

I’m swapping jk axles into my lj and need different wheels. I’m told I can stay with 15” wheels if I go with steel (to clear the larger brakes.
I want to get 8” wide wheels and not have them “poke very much as the jk axles are wider.
Any suggestions from someone who has done this?

The only time I saw 15" wheels on a JK, they had minimal backspacing so that the calipers had clearance. That made the tires poke, just want you don't want. Use a 17" wheel instead.

The axles are 5-6” wider than stock. You’re going to have noticeable poke.

It’s not only brakes. The steering sticks out there as well. Even on factory JK’s if you upgrade the steering the stock 17’s no longer clear.
