I got all the upper arms done, an both sway bars in, able to pull the front axle back to get the bolts in by using acouple 1000 pounds straps, get in it, start it up, an start hearing this marble rolling around sound? right by the gear shifter an glove box. get out see nothing hanging, get back in drive around the blocks, hear a bang like a piece of metal on a corner, drive around acouple more blocks to get back to that spot to get my 7/16s wrench that I left sitting somewhere, an nice lady stopper her car for me so i could get it without gettin run over....nice of her:) Get back to the driveway. marble sound only in neutral an drive or reverse, not park....get under it, an here its the heat shield fell down laying on the exhaust, rattling like a marble, out of control......heat shield bolts all still in the underbody......whats the best option to do with the heat shield, new sheet metal screws, an big washers, or is there a better set up out there, to replace the heat shield? is it necessary, an will it heat up the seats if its not there an catch something on fire?

And none of this was present before having done the control arms? You didn't mess with anything else other than control arms?

no, the shield, was hanging low, in the back, an when i was trying to get the bolts in an out of the rear upper forward i must of knocked what was left holding the shield on in the front, an it fell laying on top of the muffler. didnt notice it, an as the motor vibrates, it vibrates on the exhaust sounding like marbles inside the cab:) kinda freaked me out at first thinking, maybe the axle drifted to far forward, causing the driveshaft to bend or something . so, was wondering if others ripped the thing out, or put it back up, or if there was anything else out there, that replaces it.

an chris this message you posted, did not show up on my alert page that someone said something on this thread? your other one did but this one didnt, so didnt know you replied, at first. so if thats the case, some maybe posting an not seeing others who posted, to return the messages?

Ahh, so you fixed it then? Usually it's the simplest thing, which in your case, it clearly was.

That's weird about the alert. I'll have to look into that!
