I’ve seen many posts on this issue and sorry to make another one, but I felt I needed to share this information to all Jeep enthusiasts in the UK or even Europe that I recently had with my TJ with the May and Scofield immobiliser issue. But a lot of answers were from people in the USA Most people haven’t had much of an answer other than getting one from the US shipped over which is costly. Just wanted to give details of the company ECU DECODE which I just used to remove the immobiliser from my ECU. Amazing, got it back in two days. If anyone else is struggling with this issue I can’t recommend them enough!! My Jeep started up straight away after sending the ECU off to ECU decode to get the immobiliser programmed out when I got it back just plugged it in and it was fixed!
Hope this helps some of you if you’re stuck with this one as I was, before finding these guys!

Hi,
First of all thanks for your post!
I have recently purchased a 2.5 Wrangler TJ which has an immobilizer issue. I would just like to know the process you followed to get yours working again. The immobiliser is behind the steering wheel, the ECU behind the battery. Did you remove the immobiliser at all? Did you send just the ECU in the the ECU DECODE guys. Sorry for the questions but I am in South Africa dealing with a UK imported TJ.
Thanks Dale

Hey,
I hope you enjoy the TJ once you’ve sorted this issue out! Depending what year your TJ is? mine being the 1998. I think in 2000 they changed the immobiliser to using something called skim which is a different process to remove than what I had to do but the same company can still get it sorted out. If you contact them directly by email from the website they will tell you how to go about it and the cost etc.
So I removed my immobiliser from behind the dash- threw it as hard as I could into the scrap bin and crushed it.. I then took off the ECU unit and that’s the part I sent away to ECU Decode company. They removed the software inside ECU to basically tell it that it doesn’t have an immobiliser anymore and then they sent it back to me. I then put the ECU back in and hurray its back and working fine ever since.
Hope this helps

Totally unrelated, but it's time for an alignment.
