I am replacing the ignition lock cylinder in my 2003 TJ and I've run into a problem. As I look at the end of the replacement lock opposite the key end I see what looks to be white plastic that sits about a quarter of an inch deep in the center hole. After installing the replacement the jeep will start but will not continue to run. I re-installed the original and the jeep runs fine. I've installed the replacement three times with same results. The original lock does not have the white plastic piece inserted into the center hole. I purchased the replacement from a seller on Ebay. My question is - should there be a white plastic insert in the center hole?
