Gas Tank Pressure

Today when filling up, when I removed the gas cap, there was vent pressure coming out of the filler neck. It stopped after about 10 seconds of venting. When I had the tank out a few weeks back, the roll over vents were working fine. Could they have just stopped working? This is the hottest it has been since I've had the TJ.

For anyone who searches this topic, the issue for me was the Vapor Canister Purge Valve. I had replaced the original with a Dorman. It installs upside down compared to the OEM one. I'm guessing that rain or something got into it. I replaced it with another Dorman, but this time I turned it upside down. Doing this required the ports to be flipped as the Dorman unit has the vacuum input labeled. It was as easy as just pulling the hard tubing out of the 90* connectors and changing their locations.

So far, 3 weeks have went by and I've not had an issue or check engine light. The ECM gets completed checks on all the emissions equipment now.

I used a Standard Motor Products on my 97 evap purge valve and it looks just like the original.
