Anyone have any luck with repairing a fuel tank? I thought it was my inlet hose, but apparently the filler neck is cracked.
I can't find a stock replacement, and would like to avoid a $1600 Genright if possible. It's for a 2005 TJR.

I carry around a tube of JB weld Steel Stick. No first hand experience but I think it would do the trick.

I'd say plastic welder but heat and gas...

Many years ago I bought a Jeep that had a crack in the filler neck of the tank. I just used JB weld original epoxy. I drove it for several years without problems.

There are used gas tanks For Sale on EBay and there are Forum Members that are parting out Jeeps where a fuel tank may be available.

Ok. So my tank was beyond repairable (at least by me). The whole filler neck was cracked and was almost completely rotted out near the rib that the filler hose stops at.
I ended up getting a Genright Enduro tank, which gives me an extra five gallons of fuel. This thing is a freaking work of art. Impeccable welds, and a really nice machined fuel pump retainer.
Was it spendy? Yeah, But it beats the hell out of a car payment.
I was also getting random emission codes that I could not figure out. Those are gone.
