I plan on installing an Eaton e-locker in my front Dana 30. My question is do I need LM102949/LM102911 carrier bearing and race for this install in a Dana 30. When I look up this locker it mentions this bearing and race but when I look up these parts they tend to reference a gm axle but no reference to a Dana 30. Set me on the right path.

are the bearings bad? you may need to get under them to measure the shim stacks.
and if your going in there you might as well do new tube seals.

do you have help? this is not a simple task and can be kinda tricky to nail down the correct set-up. and you'll need a dial indicator. best bet might be to seek a professional if your unsure.

Yes, you need LM102949/LM102911 for the Eaton E-lockers. These bearings & races work in both the Dana 30 & Dana 35. Check out Allen's Offroad if you haven't already found a place to buy them. Allen is always very helpful and I've found him to be really competitive on prices. He even made a custom item for me to help out anyone else in the future. Check it out & good luck!

Let me clarify. I am in the process of gathering all parts needed for a regear and locker install. I am not doing this install. I'm just gathering the parts. I already have Revolution 4.56 gears and install kits which includes bearings, seals, and shim pacs. I have already a True Trac locker for the Dana 44 rear. I want a selectable locker for the front Dana 30. The e locker is my selection of choice. I just want to make sure I get the proper carrier bearings for the e locker.

Yup, you're on the right track. Unfortunately, the carrier bearings that come with the Revolution install kit will not work with the Eaton locker. Maybe you can sell those to someone?

You may want to consider buying 4 of the carrier bearings LM102949. I purchased 2 extras when I did the install to make set-up bearings.

I assume I will need the special shims also.

Correct. SK30214 worked well for me.
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. Just for peace of mind, let me ask about the True Trac I bought for the rear Dana 44. I didn't see any recommendations for special bearings/races/shims for the True Trac. Am I to assume the bearings and shims in the Revolution install kit will work?

I'm afraid I can't comment on the Truetrac as I have no experience with that one. Maybe try reaching out to the vendor you purchased it from or directly to Eaton? I've contacted Eaton for customer service a few times by phone with very good success. Or with a little luck, someone on the forum will chime in... Sorry I couldn't be more help.

You have provided plenty of help. Thanks again.
