Pinion Depth = .020 Baffle & .053 Depth Shims under the bearing race.
Pinion Preload = 17 inch lbs. Crush sleeve eliminator and .062 preload shims

Can you please provide input on the first pattern for this set up?

What brand gears? The pattern looks shallow but also like they are two cut gears.

Dana Spicer gears, which are two-cut gears. I also thought it looked a little shallow. My original pinion had a +2 on it and the Dana Spicer pinion didn't have a depth marking on it so I just threw in the same amount of pinion shims that were originally there.

So would it be worthwhile adding .002" to the pinion depth and rerunning the pattern ?

Pattern 2

2004 Superduty Dana 60
ARB Locker
5.38 reverse cut gears (new)
Pinion Depth = .020 Baffle & .055 Depth Shims under the bearing race.
Pinion Preload = 17 inch lbs. Crush sleeve eliminator and .064 preload shims
Backlash = .007

Can you please provide input on the 2nd pattern for this set up?

Thanks

That pattern is looking better. Two cut gears want .005 backlash so you will need to try and tighten that up and pattern it again.
