Folks, this is my first thread since I recently joined the Forum.
The blue high beam dash light stays on even when the lights are on low. I replaced the headlights with new ones because one of the led headlamps went bad. Too expensive to replace so I purchased standard halogen lamps. in replacing them, the headlamp on the left (facing the jeep), there was no continuity to ground. I installed a new ground to the headlamp and the lights due change from low to high but the blue light on the dash still stays on. About a year ago I had the replace the multi-function switch but the lights worked still worked fine. I also traded out the HB relay with another but that didn't eliminated the blue light problem.
Does anyone have any ideas what to do?

HB relay? As in high beam relay? If so there is no relay anywhere in the TJ's headlight circuit unless it was added by a previous owner. There is no need for a headlight relay for stock headlights or LED headlights.

Jerry,
I assumed HB stood for hIgh Beam. I can't think of any thing else it stands for. So then the Multi-function switch controls the headlamps directly! I guess I will have to trace the ground wire back to where it originates to find out why it is not connected to ground. Is it possble the multifunction switch went bad?

The same switch inside the MFS controls both the high beams and also drives the high beam indicator inside the instrument cluster. All three lights are powered by a light green wire with a white tracer on it. If your high beams are not on when the high beam indicator is I'd assume a problem with the instrument cluster. The light green wire with white tracer shown below comes straight from the MFS.

Jerry,
I know those wires very well. I had to replace the old 3 pin connectors with new ones and they did not have have the numbers 1, 2, or 3 on them. Do you know which pin goes with the proper color wire. Obviously, ground is the middle one but maybe I mixed up the #2 and #3 pins. That could be the problem! So maybe the LG/wh is on the wrong terminals and the same for wh/LG.

Are you talking about the headlight connectors? The #3 connector is at the bottom when it's connected onto the headlight which via the black wire connects the bulb's common to its ground connection.

Jerry,
Yes. I knew the bottom was ground or #3 but if you are looking at the back of the connector, is #2 the right pin and #1 is the left?

I was mistakenly giving you rear tail light wire colors and rear tail light schematic, this is for the front headlight connector. The one for the right has the same layout.

Jerry,
those wire colors are not at the headlights. The colors above must be for a different year then 2005. The yel/wh and Wh/yel are. The diagram above that you sent me is that looking at the rear of the connector where the wires enter? Is #3 on the plug ground/black because on mine the black is on #2?
