Will jk lower ball joint fit and work on a tj? I've read several conflicting things..
They will fit in the lower hole but are not the same. Or that they won't fit in the hole and aren't the same. Spicer has the same part number for their balls joints for all d30s but is that only for the upper/inner C. If anyone has dealt with this or had some experience in this particular area, any help would be appreciated.

Why not just get the correct BJ for your application?

There is a reason you want to know that answer, what is it?

I was looking at the dynatrac pro steer ball joints and considering they don't make a tj specific ball joint I was wondering if the application would be compatible. After digging around for the last few days I've come to find that the length and tapper of the lower is what is different about them and suppose that would make them unusable in a tj. Would I be correct in that assumption.

The length is fine, the taper is not fine at all. 1.5" per foot versus 2" per foot and they are not interchangeable as far as the taper goes. The problematic joint however, is not the lower. They last just fine. The problem is the upper so if you were going to spend too much on ball joints, start with the upper.

Understood. So, I know that you know your stuff. Do you have any recommendations for ball joints? I'm running 35s on 3.5in lift, currie track bar and currectlync and a psc box. (Dont know if any of that matters in factoring this together) I will also be adding hydro assist in the future. I daily this thing and it takes its licks in the rocks so looking for something that will last.

Historically, we have used Spicer with good success. I've not found a great alternative and we've tried several. The Spicers are predictable, last for a couple of seasons, don't ruin the holes they sit in, and are not terrible in price. Certainly cheap enough to run for a couple of seasons and swap out.
