Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ radiator

Anyone know what this is?

While perusing the underside of our Jeep, I noticed a male pneumatic quick-disconnect, tracing the line from it to the firewall of the engine bay. The line entered a Peter Paul Electronics device. From there lines went to the brake master and to a cylinder that might be an accumulator? Does anyone know what this is and what its function might be? At 69yo, this is new to me. Note: The TJ is new to me (2002), and I'm still going through it. Thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

Probably flat towed behind a diesel pusher that has air brakes.

Ahh...I think you're onto something. I also noticed a trailer lights connection nearby. Thank you! I believe this is it. The folks that we purchased the Jeep from had it for five years and really did nothing to it (the brake lights never worked-no fuse in the panel) and knew nothing about it. It seems to be a pretty solid unit, just needs a little TLC and deferred maintenance.

If they're still in business, (and they are) they might have a web site that has some info on it.

Or it's an independent company that uses their products.

That isn't an accumulator. It is an actuator or air cylinder that typically moves the master to apply the brakes while being flat towed.

If you don't plan to flat tow, wouldn't be a bad idea to remove the system and offload it. Fewer points of failure in your braking system is most always better.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't have a diesel pusher with air brakes and would like to KISS. Thank you.
