Tried to get some video best i could. Website wont let me upload video from iphone so im using youtube.. video is back behind driver seat. Sometimes it seems like its in the middle. Sometimes like its from the left rear.

It happens in 3rd, 4th, sometimes 5th. Usually when im engine braking down a hill. Loudest at about 35 mph. I tried adding differential oil as i noticed it was very low and ill have to do a full replace soon, and seal it since it clearly had leaked some

It seems to be in sync with the differential grind which is why i assumed the issue was lack of oil. Are there any bearing that could be compressing in reverse, that a lack of diff oil may have resulted in this damage? But why would a bearing be perfectly in sync with a diff’s natural grinding sound?

Maybe the lack of oil caused some marks in the gears, where resistance on the drive train is compressing on the opposite direction and the oil hasnt had time to let the marks naturally buff back out?!

Those are my only ideas.

Almost impossible to tell from that video.

Jack it up off the ground (or on a lift) and spin the drivetrain while someone stands underneath it and looks and listens for noises. That's how you go about identifying this sort of thing.
