Aluminum Rivets

Just a heads up for those searching for aluminum rivets - run over a magnet over the product before use.

I picked up these:

And when I threw a couple in a magnetic parts holder for short term holding before use - they were clearly magnetic, despite being listed as all aluminum.

Upon reading of the reviews, others found the same thing.

So buy rivets with caution & confirm quality to avoid future rust. I'm going to McMaster Carr to fill out my needs now to ensure better quality.

Rivets such as "all aluminum blind rivets" absolutely have aluminum hat and aluminum mandrel. Aluminum can have a steel mandrel but not exclusively.
