What do you mean by larger? The actual overall diameter, or just the thickness of the tone ring material?? Pictures and measurements would help. I have limited experience with this on jeep wranglers, however I have run across a few shafts that had what appeared to be larger tone rings on them, however in reality the shaft diameter was slightly smaller so they could make the tone ring thicker so it would be more durable, some manufacturers had issues with tone rings cracking because they were to thin, Hyundai was bad for this especially in the early 2000's and i have seen several vehicles with one style on one side and a different on the other usually because one shaft had been replaced, I have often had to specify whether I need thick or thin replacement rings. Again I lack experience w this on jeep wranglers ( so far anyway lol) but just making sure you aren't getting caught up like I did first time I got a replacement replacement shaft w a "thicker" ring like I did, I swore it was wrong till I measured it and made a call and was told this was the new style to reduce warranty claims. Not sure if this will be any help to ya.
