Hello people, I need help, mostly aimed at UK people. I have absolutely no experience in the whole ECU part of Jeeps. Don't understand it in the slightest. I currently have a little issue with my jeep. The key fob to my imbozalizer (may and Schofield ) likes to be hit and miss. Just the other day it left me stranded dead for about 12 hours. When I go to press the unlock button on the fob, nothing happens. The imbozalizer doesn't disengage. It's not a big deal but I really don't vibe with being stuck untill 3am again. It's not the battery inside the fob, the wiring is fine inside the dash. Would anyone happen to know what is causing the fob not being able to 'speak' to the imbozalizer itself. I want to say that is a signal issue but I really don't know. I've looked at other issues on here regarding it and It seems that the best way to go about this is to just send off my ECU and get the imbozalizer fully deleted. I'm wanting to do this and just install my own kill switch for the engine itself. Would anyone know how to resolve the issue, or even know what is causing it with the imbozalizer or know of any good UK based companies that specialise in ECU imbozalizer deletes. Sadly auto electricians near me won't even look at it as it's too much of a ball ache.

Just to clear things up, is this the factory SKIM system or an aftermarket system?

Do you have a key FOB for the alarm? If so, it's not factory and has nothing to do with the ECU / PCM.

I believe it's the factory SKIM. The fob is only used to unlock the imbozalizer. My jeep doesn't have an alarm, at least it's never gone off lol

Mine has an aftermarket alarm / immobilizer system and way, way back when (20 years ago?) I had issues with it, and discovered the antenna wire for the alarm system was in a bad spot. Moving the antenna wire to run along the side of the windshield resolved the issue.

I didn't even think of this. I rip it out and have a look at it. Hopefully it's just this. I had a feeling the issue is due to interference or signal from the fob not getting to the imbozalizer. But I really don't know how these things work. Worse comes to worse, and the jeep leaves me stranded again, the M38 will become my new daily, at least there's nothing much electrical on it 🙃

I have found a couple of places in shopping centers where I can't turn off the M&S immobiliser at all. In both places the Jeep just needs pushing out of the spot I've parked in and the immobiliser works fine, so there's obviously signal interference issues that can affect it. I've also found a long press on the key works better than just a quick tap of the button. Occasionally if it doesn't turn off I use the lock button and it will then unlock.

If you do need the M&S deleting from the PCM best bet is probably @Wranglerfix.
