Long shot here, but has anyone ever used THIS PART from Extreme Terrain? I think I know the answer already - BUT - I’m trying to figure out if this part requires the metal rectangular piece that comes on the inside/bottom of the stock shift boot. My metal part is broke, and has lost its holding power, so it can’t be used any longer.

EDIT: I have tried to find a replacement metal piece, and they seem to be impossible to find.

Metal rectangular piece? It should be plastic. Also, this isn't really a part I'd spend a lot on.

FWIW; I had a TC drop and couldn't use a stiff boot. I used a crown royal bag I had laying around. Worked perfect.

That’s for a 97-04, which I think uses the plastic piece. The 05/06 models have a metal rectangular piece that is inside the bottom of the shifter boot/bag - it helps the bottom of the boot from falling in. You place the metal piece/bag on the console, and then the plastic bezel snaps in over top of it.

That sucks

The part you linked in your first post looks just like the 97-04 boot with the plastic insert that attaches complete differently to the console.
