What to Look For on a LJ

Wound up picking this up yesterday. It was more than I wanted to spend, but the cost to replicate it would be 3x what I paid for it. 2013 JKU w/ 128k miles, Dana 60 front, shaved 14 bolt (13 bolt) rear, stretched 3" rear and 2" front, 3 link front/rear, front & rear SwayLocks, KMC Grenade...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Alright, been curious about this for a long time. Do you actually spell it "mum" like you pronounce it or are you just spelling it like you pronounce it? We normal non-accented English speakers use the long "o", mom.

What to Look For on a LJ

I looked at it Wednesday. The pictures are deceiving, even all the extras I asked for. The rear axle was puking gear oil, oil leaks everywhere on the engine, suspension needed pulled out, cleaned and all new joints, coilovers needed new springs and rebuilt, interior was an inch deep of funk, and...

    Indiana 2000 TJ

That screen is great for the extra gauges the Torque Pro app offers 😉. I'll help with shipping 😜. I need something I can get both kids and the wife in. I'm looking for either an LJ or a JKU. I've got an eye on a couple JKU's that are ready to go for great prices. I drove to Cincinnati to look...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Deleting may happen if I decide to keep it longer than a couple years. Hood stack will never happen.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I dispise how much engine noise dampening my L5P has. If I keep it long enough to be near the injectors, the heat trapping foam is coming out. It's not only purpose is to dampen noise so those hoidy toidy people who don't want to hear a problem before the CEL comes on.

    Indiana 2000 TJ

This is a 2000 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) with a 4.0 and 5-speed transmission. This is a very well taken care of Jeep. I bought the Jeep in January 2024 in 100% stock. Majority of modifications have been done in the last 12 months. The frame has been fully repaired and strengthened by Wheat's Off-Road...

What did you do to your TJ today?

We can't take it with us this we need to enjoy it while we are here. The last 2 years I've adopted the mindset to take or do the adventure and spend the money. Spending time with my kids when they are young and wants to be with me is my main focus. I want zero regrets when I'm dying.

Who makes really good replacement seatbelts?

I replaced mine with Seatbelt Planet belts. They are high quality and the rears will retract like modern cars so you can use them with a car seat or booster seat.

Is it safe to run a battery tender through the DC power port?

I thought about it but it was too big to fit on that spot with any sort of mounting. I've replaced them several times on the fire trucks at the VFD. They are easy to install, just takes a trigger wire to the starter to trip the ejection.

What to Look For on a LJ

Those are a couple of things I'd have as spare parts if I bought it.

What to Look For on a LJ

I'm going next week to look at this 2005 LJ Rubicon 4.0 and 42RLE with 92k miles. He is the second owner and has had it a nice October 2021. It was in Dallas until 10/21. It has a Fabtech lift with coils in the front and outboarded rear shocks. It does have 5.13 gears and ARB lockers in the...

    Cylinder 4 Misfire

Replaced the ECM after tracing down and diagnostics determined that was the issue. Put the new @Wranglerfix ECM in and it purrs like a kitten.

The crazy stuff you've seen on Twitter thread

See that all the time around me, especially in the spring during Rumsprigler.

    Cylinder 4 Misfire

So far the noid light shows the injector firing as it should. When it's running, it's pouring gas out the exhaust and the plug is soaked in gas.

Indiana UCF Aluminum Gas Tank Skid Plate

And worth it. You can do so much with a BL on a TJ including raising the gas tank 1" and a flatter belly pan.

Indiana UCF Aluminum Gas Tank Skid Plate

I purchased this for my 2000 but have decided to go a different direction. It is new and never installed. This is the 1/4" thick aluminum version. It does require a 1" body lift as it raises the gas tank up by 1".

    Cylinder 4 Misfire

Not sure how an O2 sensor would cause a single bank to misfire. I would think it would cause 3 banks to misfire since there is an upstream O2 for 1-3 and an upstream for 4-6. They are reading correct values on the Torque app I run on the double DIN radio. I dropped it off at the Jeep shop that...
