    A/C Woes

Update: I had to put this on the back burner for a few days. The HVAC controls work as they should. All fuses and relays seem to be good. The high and low pressure switches have continuity. My SIL has a set of gauges and I will check the coolant charge this weekend. Meanwhile, I put my...

    We Adopted

A few mods to hide the pinch weld and keep some bozo from messing with the fuel tank.

    We Adopted

My wife just retired. She asked for a new Jeep. At age 60, it is the first time she has ever asked for a new vehicle just for herself. Her wish is my command.

    A/C Woes

Now that I think about it. When I installed the HU, the 3-prong HVAC plug had melted and a PO did a hack job repairing it. I'm betting that is where my problem is. I will pop the bezel off tomorrow and see if the plug has disconnected itself. I may have to figure out a better solution than...

    A/C Woes

The AC in my wifes 99 quit working. She says the blower still worked. The airbag light occasionally started coming on for a couple days, then it would go out. IDK if that is related, but it started around the same time as the AC quit blowing cold. I went out this morning to troubleshoot...

Toyota lights on your TJ! Cheap, quality LED alternative

Lights arrived today. I am surprised that these are still in stock. Heck of a deal and many owners of 60's Fords do this upgrade anyway.

Toyota lights on your TJ! Cheap, quality LED alternative

Just picked up a couple more kits, $35 shipped to my door. For $17.50 each, that's a heck of a deal.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally got the rear seat back in with new hardware. Now I need to reinstall the rear seatbelts and figure out what to do with the center piece that has the two female parts of the belt. Mine work, but are broken.

    Favorite Cheap Beer

I thought Schaefer was the nastiest beer I ever tasted until I had a Schaefer Lite.

    Favorite Cheap Beer

Back when I was a young pup in the military, I drank a lot of beer with my buddies. Payday was on the 15th and the 30th. Oregon had a beverage container tax. On payday we drank Bud or Miller. Mid-way we drank Hamms or Oly, just before payday we drank Rainier. If we had the weekend off and...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Not much. I have had some ticker issues and had a procedure done last Friday to get things back to normal. Gotta lay off the fried chicken, pork rinds and Hamms. Am working on reinstalling the rear seat and seat belts.

    Rear seat belts

It seems my center pieces are missing the covers. Is there anything else that uses the same style buckle that I can snag the covers off in the JY??

Has anyone used these eBay silicone radiator hoses from China?

I replace my hoses, thermostat and do a radiator flush every 5 years at an average cost of around $200. Cheaper on the Mustangs and TJ, more expensive on the motorhome. Regular Gates work just fine for me. Silicone hoses were developed for severe duty applications and none of my vehicles fall...

Dollar shave club my rear end

Gender reassignment will also reduce the need to shave. That's a bonus you never hear about. Just look at how smooth Caitlyn is.

For all of us with two wheels also

Don't even know where to start. I've owned maybe 40 bikes in my lifetime. Everything from a Kawasaki 100 to a CVO Electra Glide. My favorites were a KZ 900, CBX, Rune, Electa Glide and an Indian. Comfort over a long haul is a GW, hands down, although I have not ridden a liquid cooled HD.

Recommendations For Upgrading Stereo & Speakers

In my 40 years of owning Jeeps, I have found that you can spend a couple hundred bucks and have crappy sound or spend a couple thousand bucks and have crappy sound in a CJ or Wrangler. $50+ will buy a decent single din bluetooth and another $100 for speakers will get you functional for under $200.
