Show me what's custom on your TJ

I tend to daily drive it unless I need my truck for truck things. I probably put 15k miles on it in 2025 and it was on jackstands from January to May while I redid the front frame/suspension. I don’t think they’d be terrible to do a seal/service on yourself either. I chose to send them in not...

Show me what's custom on your TJ

I’m pretty happy with them. I’m not 100% sure I would have bought them from the start based on price but I used them since they came with the TJ that this started out as. Saying that, I’ve been thinking about putting them on the rear now too. I somewhat blew the seals out of them during the 24...

Show me what's custom on your TJ

The list of what isn’t custom on mine is shorter than what is 😂🤣. Probably the most “uncommon” custom thing on it is having a Motobilt front half kit but with a steering box instead of full hydro. The box is from a 1979 F150 and everything that touches it is fabbed to make it work including the...

    DJ's TJ: Low and Slow

I’m pretty sure it’s a 1.75”. I’ve put a TON of miles on it since May. Like 10-12k 😂. A lot of street driving and it’s been in the woods a good bit too. And 2 400-500 mile 24hr endurance rallies with 24 Hours of Appalachia. I’ve had a few minor issues but overall I’m happy with it. No regrets...

    DJ's TJ: Low and Slow

I checked back into what I ordered from summit for mine. I’ve got the PSC sf25 flow control valve with a .160 orifice. I bought it to adapt straight to the -6 AN line but I guess I got lucky on the sizing. PSC pump for what it’s worth too. Mine is kinda slow at idle but any throttle picks it up...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Dropped it off to get the a/c fixed. I knocked one of the lines off of it during the frame work/resealing the engine and now it’s acting like it’s got a clog in the system somewhere.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Motobilt front frame half and the steering box is a late 70’s/early 80’s F150/Bronco.

What did you do to your TJ today?

    Did this to mine yesterday

The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

Among other stuff it’s got going on, this might be the worst high lift jack mounting location ever. Stolen from FB.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I’ve got both and a set of full soft doors now. Traded an extra set of lower half’s that I got with some other stuff from a guy parting a jeep out. Thanks, it’s slowly getting there.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Traded a set of half door bottoms with no panels for a set of full hard doors. I’m pretty happy about having windows that roll down instead of unzip. Especially when it’s cold/rainy out. And they’re the right color.

    Another TJ6 build

Keep looking. I bought an entire soft top with the frame for around $250 and another frame for $100 after a tree branch landed on my top in a storm. The top I bought has a couple tear and the windows are fairly scuffed but it’s perfect as a trail top that I won’t lose any sleep over rubbing on a...

Doing It The Hard Way - JL Steering Box and a Front Stretch

Sounds like a solid plan. I think the banjos on mine are 45*. I know my long line has a 45* fitting on one end and a 90* on the other. Make sure they’re clocked correctly if you end up with any like that. The upside down caliper thing will be a pain to bleed brakes but at the same time, how...

Genright 8274 Mount (Looking for weight loss)

That would work for sure too. It was the very front bottom corners that interfered.

Genright 8274 Mount (Looking for weight loss)

I’ve got a Motobilt 8274 mount on a modified Motobilt stubby/short bumper and love it. I had to cut the d-ring mounts off of it to get the 8274 mount to fit. I’ve added some other recovery points now that aren’t on it in this pic to replace them.

Doing It The Hard Way - JL Steering Box and a Front Stretch

You can get the banjo adapter in different angles and then run straight -3 fitting braided lines. Lay it out so everywhere it uses a braided line can use the same length and then carry one as a spare. My rear is set up like this except for the long braided line that’s running down my upper link...

    Another Tracer build

Cool. Thanks. It’s good to see all of it can actually squeeze in there.

    Another Tracer build

I’d be interested in seeing how you got the steering/trackbar stuff sorted out if you’ve got them. I’ve got a RockJock in the front of mine and everything hits everything with the way it was built before I ended up with it. I’m about to tear it all apart to fix it and seeing how you went about...

Doing It The Hard Way - JL Steering Box and a Front Stretch

It’s gonna be interesting for sure. Front stretch and a Currie RockJock 60 that pretty much fills where your box is mounted so I’m gonna do something similar but on the outside of the rail between the grille and the tower for the ORI. I’ve got a build on NC4x4 but I haven’t copied it over here...

Doing It The Hard Way - JL Steering Box and a Front Stretch

Nice!! I like the “just enough” notch rather than a huge tunnel chopped out of the rail. I’m about to put an outside the frame forward swing box on mine and I’m sure I’ll have to do some frame rail notching along those lines.
