    AX15 4.31:1 Low First Gear Conversion Q&A

I picked up an NP241 to solve exactly the thing this would. My highway gearing is perfect with 4.10's on 33's and a stroker. My crawl ratio sucks bad though. I wonder if this would be a better option to installing the 241. I'll be keeping my eye on this!

As opposed to the ones that are easy? 😄

    Low Exhaust Back Pressure

Check out this page from Summit Racing https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mel-cl-mc1377?srsltid=afmboor4xrjwlzej_faxgxu71zijbxfv9klup9pa2d_c1y8kzvh3bnp4 Description makes it sound like a mild upgrade, but I think it's probably just general marketing gobledeegook. I am not familiar with stock...

Project Snowball: My daily driven LJ crawler / hot rod / wanna do all build / IDK what to tittle this , "My LJ"

I'm not familiar with them. I have an Apexi ECV on my TJ off my old Skyline but it's kinda the opposite idea of a cutout. I know a guy at work with electric cutouts on his Cobra replica and has no issues with them. I can ask the brand. I wonder the advantages/disadvantages of vacuum actuation...

Get an electronic cutout so you can be selectively loud--like loud at 3am, then quiet when the cops show up the next morning to chat 😄

    Low Exhaust Back Pressure

Yeah, my wife isn't down either, and I have spent a lot more than 5 min trying before.

    Low Exhaust Back Pressure

Back pressure is 100% a bad thing and there is no small amount your 4.0 "likes" or improves low end torque. Hot oil pressure should be 12-18psi at idle and somewhere around 40-60'ish driving down the road. If you got higher readings than that, it wasn't warmed all the way up yet. Or you are...

One other thing I just realized is the Dana 44 I ordered has the larger JK 8.9" ring gear. What size is a stock TJ Dana 44 ring gear?

It's probably about to ship I'd guess. Fusion is actually who I bought it from. I guess I could always reach out and ask if they have even started on it, but it was a black Friday order so I'd guess so. One important thing for me is the length of the pinion i.e. how long is the drive shaft...

The 9" is lighter? That's surprising. Of course I find this out right after I order a built Dana 44 with a TruTrac just like you had to replace my 8.8. And I definitely plan to continue drag launches 🫤

I've not heard of many people putting a 9" under a TJ/LJ before. Other than the obvious strength advantage launching it with 33's, what are the pros/cons over a Dana 44?

Random photos: Got anything interesting, unique, strange?

Not sure where to put this so I'll just leave it here. Saw this dude this morning. It's chilly here. Even snowed yesterday. Dude is committed! That's a factory turbo diesel BTW.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I didn't know you were going LS?!?! Man I gotta start keeping up with build threads. And coincidentally, I have been slowly making my way through D's build thread and I'm enjoying it!

I have had a solar eco-drive Citizen for 5-6 years. It has spent months in a drawer. I have never had it not keep perfect time at soon as it gets clipped to my wrist.

Repairing your old watch. Seems like Citizen was just giving you an "I dunno, replace all the guts" kinda answer. I have seen him fabricate and replace a single part before. Or at least take the time to figure out exactly what was broken and know what parts need ordering. Not saying he wouldn't...

I have a buddy who owns a watch repair shop. He fixes crazy high end crap all the time. Want me to ask him about it?
