Advice on possible purchase LJ vs LJR

I'd keep your orange one. If you plan to wheel it hard, then upgrade the gears and lockers like others said. You can always swap a Rubi t-case into yours (I did that myself).

    Trail Navigator

Here in Ontario we pay $25/year (with discount if you an off-road club member, $50 otherwise) for OF4WD membership, which is the advocacy group for all ATVs, OHVs, Sleds, etc. With it it gets you up to date gpx downloadable files of all our trails to use in whatever app you wish. Most of us...

What do you know about the Brute?

Bored and necro cruising this forum.... I am 50 and have only owned 4 vehicles, because I tend to keep them. As it happens, 3 of them were two doors, the same three were manuals. I bought a 98' Subaru Outback off my folks when I lived in the NYC area cause I didn't want to care if someone...

    Trail readiness

You might also look up local Jeep/4x4 clubs. Ours does many "newbie" runs every year. In fact, since most folks these days are buying newer, expensive Jeeps, the newbie runs became hugely popular for those even who really aren't new anymore. Experienced guides take them out and help them...

Bestop Supertop fit, but I think it's the frame?

I have the Bestop Supertop in Twill. My fit was fine but the rear window zipper has basically been unusable since first use. With the lube as well. It splits left and right. Wonder if this is covered?

How to fix small zipper separation?

FWIW, it has been sitting directly in the morning sunlight in ~70-74ºF temp. The day go progressively warmer, but that is about the time I tried. I am not impressed with this $2,000 top if this is what happens on first try to unzip. Bestop, do better! P.S. I only tried to put it back on...

    Soft brake line question

P.S. I did a few times (multiple soft line thingies). That is the easy stuff.

How to fix small zipper separation?

I still don't know what do to with my current situation. It makes using the back window very unusable. Seems lube is prevention but not solution.

Who on here is the go-to for discussing a stroker build?

On the subject of stroker vs. V8.... Here in Ontario, it is easier to mod your engine a bit and still have insurance coverage, but if you swap your engine it becomes a "Hot rod" and very few insurance companies will cover you, even if it is 'legal'. Without insurance it is defacto illegal...

How to fix small zipper separation?

Thanks for the reply. It sucks because this was literally the first time I went to remove the back window and that happened in 3 places.

    New Half Doors from GenRight

OK, I take back what I said before, I thought previously that there were cutouts on the outside skin like the inside portion. That to me would have been a deal breaker as it lets in mud and water. They look nice but not for the money I am assuming.

How to fix small zipper separation?

Here is what ChatGPT had to say: Thanks for the clear photo — the issue looks like a zipper tooth misalignment or fabric bunching near the teeth, both common in automotive soft tops. Since the zipper slider gets stuck and can't pass that point, here’s a step-by-step process to attempt a fix...

How to fix small zipper separation?

Anyone have suggestions on how to remedy these small separations in the zipper? Happened to me 3 times the very first time I tried to take my back window off my soft top. [sorry for the poor photo quality, but you can still see what I mean]

    New Half Doors from GenRight

I waited for almost 3 years watching and found my set for $850 CAD (~$613 USD), got like new uppers for $150 more. Half doors in worse condition are regularly $1400 CAD here. I just need to fill some dings along the bottom edge and paint to match. I do have UCF trail doors too, but they are...

    New Half Doors from GenRight

I prefer my OEM half doors, but even the UCF trail doors to these because they are fully closed. Here mud and water is a big factor for running half doors over no doors (beyond the extra security/safety). Also, unless they make them attractively priced then they will be just a beauty product...

    What Would You Build?

I'm with mac, build a light weight trailer. Get inspiration from Nate @ dirtlifestyle, or others here. You can park the trailer when daily driving and keep all the needed stuff in the trailer.
