It's very worth it if you're doing slow, technical, rock crawling or going down very steep declines and not wanting to have to rely on the brakes as much I had one and I remember how cool it was. If I wasn't rock crawling I don't think it would be necessary.

I'm sure they'll appreciate it. Get it in tip-top shape and then you shouldn't have to worry about anything major again, at least in your lifetime.
