32RH slips in drive after hard acceleration

After a 2 hr trail, I was getting on the highway (in a hurry) today shifting around 3200-3500 in each gear, then setting cruise at 65 mph. After a few seconds the RPMs quickly rose up and back down about 700 rpm, accompanied by a slight shake at that speed. I slowed to 60 mph and the issue...

    Another happy Powertrax no-slip owner

First, no trimming required for this 3.55 up carrier, but had to remove the ring gear to take out the spider gears. Even found both front brake lines installed wrong causing interference at full lock and the outer rubber hose was torn, so new brake hoses up front. After about 35...

At my wits-end with drive shaft vibrations

TLDR, I have rhythmic (dynamic) vibrations above 63mph that won't go away, no matter the pinion angle. I've tested more than 30 different pinion/ds angle combinations from above and below and I always have the same dynamic vibrations. Sometimes worse, some times better, and one time constant...

Crawltek Pyro Mid-Width Rear Bumper Install and initial review

I replaced my enormously heavy Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot Series Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier with the Crawltek Pyro Mid-Width Rear Bumper. First impression were good. The mounting instructions say you can use 4 or 8 bolts to mount the bumper, and the PO had already drilled out the needed holes in...

    Issue with oil pan gasket

This is my second attempt at fixing a leak around the rear oil pan gasket hump. I previously replaced the gasket and RMS, mistakes were made putting the pan on but I put it all back together and ran it for a few months until the leaking got on my nerves enough to do something about it. That...

    Preferred oil pan gasket

What is the preferred 4.0 oil pan gasket? I just put on a Felpro gasket and when I was test fitting it, there was excess length around the hump of the RMS, which is now where it is leaking slowly.

SYE and non-cv yoke / driveshaft

I feel like this may elicit the angry TJ gods, but... Can I install a SYE and use a new and longer standard non-cv rear drive shaft? I'm sure the question is then, why not get a double cardan DS? Because I don't want the extra costs of the supporting suspension mods to tilt the pinion angle...

Metal goop particles in my cooling system

I’ve been working on a second round of flushing my cooling system for a few weeks now. I started with Thermocure, ran it for 3 days and then flushed it out and ran Prestone flush for the days. For the entire time I’ve owned this Jeep (13 months) whatever coolant or water I put in always...

    Power steering gear box mis-match

I was going to replace my steering gearbox for excessive play and a very large dead center and ran into an issue with the hose connections. The OEM box has double flare fittings with an o-ring, the remanufactured Byautoparts box has single flare fittings with a brass insert. I crossed...
