Yeah with a 4 speed and maybe 65hp to the wheels you're not going anywhere quickly. But you're right, it feels like you're about to break the sound barrier at 75. Lol

Well I got her all buttoned up with a new Tom Woods driveshaft and she is as smooth as silk! All the popping is gone and I am ready to hit the trails!! I have not had the Jeep in the dirt for almost 1.5 years now, its time!

I just finished my Super short and will be ordering my driveshaft Monday. Hopefully this fixes my driveline issues and I can get back out on the trails with you guys.

I was confused about this as well. I couldn't think of a reason why having different raitos would matter in 2WD.

I need to do more research on this one. Take my input with a grain of salt. It was a discussion I had on another thread but no real data was taken.

This would defeat the purpose of the heat exchanger stabalizing temps. You would be cooling fluid that needed to be warmed.

Why would you omit the radiator cooler? The radiator cooler is a heat exchanger, it also warms up the trans fluid in cold weather. You should, IMO, run an external cooler in series before the radiator cooler so you get the benefits of both.

I like the Transgo kit. I did it to keep the trans from slipping between gear changes which should increase life and reduce temps. I would definitely recommend it. Just remember you are not building a race car so do get as excited as I did and go with the bigger drill sizes on the ports. If I...

There is little to no play in the chain and it makes no noise while driving in FWD. I am pretty sure its not the TC. But I will have the TC out when I do the sssye so I will give it a good once over.

So yeah... Turns out I have had a greaseable CV this whole time and didn't know it..🤦‍♂️ I am guessing the CV is shot to hell. With that said I am buying a JB super short SYE kit and will order a non-greaseable drive shaft. Hopefully this does it. For now I am driving it in FWD and everything...

So I think I narrowed it down to my driveshaft. And I think its binding at the CV. I have a normal SYE and I am pretty sure my extra inch or so of lift has put me into sssye territory. I have 4" of spring lift and a UCF ultra high clearance skid putting my total drive train lift at around 7". Is...

This is what i was thinking. I wanted to rebuild it but not sure what to ask for, fitment wise. It's a knockoff brand and i have no idea what parts they used. The Ring, pinion and bearings have been replaced. I have setup a few R&P so I am pretty confident I got this one correct.

Did some more test to try and narrow it down. Removed the front driveshaft and the noise continued in all drive modes. I also drained the TC and the fluid was perfect, no chips or dirty fluid. So it is definitely something to do with the driveshaft or rear end.
