    Powersaws - what's everyone using?

Well my Stihl 031 AV that I bought new in 79' is still operable but mostly the modern Stihl MS 251 now. Oiler on the old one is a lot more reliable.

The decline of restaurants and eating out

Exactly, was the only customer standing at the counter at KFC recently and after taking the previous customers order they walked away like I was invisible for a few minutes. How hard is it to say I'll be right with you.....

    Cranking issues

As Cris mentioned it's a very common issue usually traced back to the regulator on top of the pump assembly leaking back and draining the fuel out of the line. It can be replaced as an individual part. Try turning the key to the run position several times without cranking then see if she cranks...

The decline of restaurants and eating out

With my #2 son being the GM at our local popilar hot spot in town we do frequent it a lot but if we didn't get the family discount with better portions and always one of the better tables (waterfront) I doub't we'd go there as much. I do look forward to favorites places out of daily reach like...

    FRONT RIGHT DANA AXLE SHAFT

The axle U-joint is held in with an inner clip rather than outer clips on like the other joints and it clearly departed. As long as it stayed centered in the assembly you could probably just press in a new cap. It may be a bitch to re-clip the joint with the knuckle in place, dont know...

Preventative maintenance while fuel tank is dropped?

Just the one gasket under the fuel pump assemble that should come with the assembly, otherwise everyting else is contained within the fuel tank proper. Just check the condition of the fill and vent hoses to the filler inlet assembly at the gas cap.

New engine noise: new motor or timing chain tensioner?

The 2.5 headers do crack a lot and make stupid noise, installed an oem survivor a few weeks ago.

    Tire clearances

I'm running the 31's on my stock setup and I'll get a minor touch of rub when going full lock to lock steering but that's it, really never noticed anything offroad.

    Exhaust Flex Coupler Idea

Does your current manifold have any flexes. The one I was referring to is what you described. They added the flexes there to remove the stresses from the 4 center tubes. Not a lot of cracking complaints about that type of manifold.

    Exhaust Flex Coupler Idea

If you look at the 4.0 replacement manifolds they are available with built in flex to compensate for expansion. My son had that on his XJ and it held up without issues. Not on the down pipe, just between the front and rear pipes.

Having the tub/shower ripped out today and installing a nice big shower with a bunch of heads. Have to shower in the kitchen sink for a few days.

    What is this?

The strap should mount to a bolt at the rear of the Hood just above, just a ground strap. The 1st pic is your motor to frame mount and it looks a bit cockeyed so maybe the rubber has perished.

So she's off to paint in the AM

Thought about that since I have the shop space but I kept asking myself if I really want to do that but after painting my ultralight last summer the answer finally came back a definate NO. Getting to old for the gymnastics involved.
