You can raise the front end off of the ground and grab the inner axle and wiggle the tire and see if there is play in it. Also if the opposite is happening turn your front wheels both ways and spin them with your face down there and see if they are binding. Look and see if they are super rusty...

Check your u-joints in your front axle.

Ha I had some custom made in Moab last year after I crushed them on the On top of the world run!

I know it is too late, but I did the big bolts on mine, and really I only had to drill either the lowers or the uppers, but not both and it was so minimal that I was embarrased I bought a drill bit for it.

I run mine on the second hold from the front. I figure if I run it in the first hole, I might as well just be running discos at that point. At the center hole it had a serious pucker factor leaving the freeway on an circular exit, Now it is just hair-raising.
