Why my new seat covers were almost stolen

I was able to watch up until delivery driver dropped it over gate. Im glad no one got away with them.

Anyway I get an email at work saying my package as been delivered and signed for at front door with a copy of signature that was not mine? Delivery driver just dropped it over my gate next to a very busy sidewalk and signed for it himself :( I was pretty lucky this time as my close neighbour took the package before it was stolen,
This was a sign for only delivery! lol

This was the footage I sent to the seller and delivery company but had to film it on my phone as my CCTV files are quite large and hard to send. Yep lucky this time, not so much maybe for the deliverer though! lol

Due to Covid, drivers are signing for packages.

learned that when $1200 worth car parts were just sitting on the porch.

Just curious what you expected the delivery person to do here? It looks like he carefully placed the package slightly out of the way into a fully gated space. Of course I don’t know how package thievery is in your neck of the woods but this is more than what I would expect around here. I think you’re lucky he didn’t just toss it onto the sidewalk.

Same delivery company knocked on my door and made a delivery today to my wife who was at home this time!
We have no Covid 19 where we live "believe it or not" and the delivery company has now opened an investigation. When I got home there was no package and I feared the worst just lucky my Neighbour grabbed it for me before it was pilfered. :)

Give me a break! it was a "sign for only expensive package!" did you see any attempt to deliver? prior arrangements were made to Collect if not home! what world do you live in? lol

Just curious do people in USA not have "Sign for only" deliveries that get taken to a postal collection point for signed for collection? In Australia if its "sign for only" a written notification card of attempted delivery is left in your mailbox and you then go pick it up at a specified drop off point where you must show ID and "Sign" for it!

Like I mentioned, I don’t know how bad package theft is in your area but luckily I don’t live in your world. I would be shocked if a delivery person even attempted to ring my doorbell and prefer it that way. If it’s expensive enough, I would arrange for a hold. Amazon does in garage delivery but I don’t care enough to bother with that. Glad you got your seat covers safely though.

Yes there is signature required for delivery if requested by the shipper but these are much different times and COVID is real in a lot of places. A package hold is the best option if you are really worried about it which I understand that you were.

Maybe where I live is an anomaly, but all of the major delivery services will walk my package up to my front door/porch. They don’t ring the doorbell, but I also prefer it that way.

Showing ID is dumb. How would you know where to go and if there was a package there to sign for if you hadn't been notified? It isn't like some random person is just going to show up and know exactly what to ask for.

Damn I'm glad I live in the sticks. We don't have package stealing issues here. I leave the doors to my rig unlocked and can leave stuff inside it with no worries.
The only time I've had a issue with FedEx or UPS delivering something was when I'd ordered a desk top computer for my daughter. I was suppose to be a Christmas present that didn't arrive on time. I'd gone over to family and didn't come home for a few days because the road conditions of the pass were shitty. I got back home and there was 15" of snow on the 3 BIG boxes sitting on my front steps.

See if maybe this will work...

Lets agree to diss agree on postal deliveries lol I will tell you now that there is "No" Covid19 in Western Australia and there has never been any! We do not wear masks we have no social distance rules everything is open as normal, Everyone goes to work as normal and lives a usual night life as normal, we just cant leave our beloved State Willy Nilly without a very good reason (Come On Man lol) and they also wont let anyone else into this State period unless you are of course Trucking in toilet paper! Did I not say in another thread that Western Australia produces 99% of Australia's Oil Gas Fossil fuels Iron ore Yellow cake, lithium Gold Diamonds etc and is a bigger net exporter to China of natural resources than Brazil? "follow the money" plain and simple! I am all right Jack Western Australia took The red Pill because our taxes alone support the rest of Australia's economy so we cant have covid 19, What exactly is covid 19 again? To me Its just something I see on MSM and Youtube, anyway Postal workers are Shit at there job no matter what country or what crisis :)
