To me this is something you wouldn't see in many other places other than Arizona and possibly Florida. I suspect part of this has to do with the fact that golf carts and UTVs are easy to make street legal in Arizona, and the other part of it has to do with the fact that we live in a neighborhood with its own golf course.

Anyways, this is the annual Halloween golf cart / UTV parade. Everyone decorates their golf carts and UTVs in Halloween decor and drives up-and-down all the neighborhood streets throwing out candy for all the onlookers. I thought about doing this with the Jeep, but we decided to take our kids out to watch instead. They really enjoyed it.

Watch the whole thing, the best part happens right at the end. @Apparition and @Rubi04 will pick up on it fast ;)

The next golf cart parade is a Christmas one!

Amazing!!!! I’m jealous!!!!!!!

You should have seen the Trump golf cart / UTV parade they had the other day. There was probably 50 of them driving up-and-down the streets of our community with flags and everything, it was really patriotic.

"Oh, that was the best one!"

Haha, you caught that!

So many people decorate their vehicles for Christmas out here; it's awesome. Lights, antlers and everything else driving down the road. I had to join the party and got some magnetic reflective Christmas lights for the TJ last year!

It's pretty shocking, because you just don't see stuff like this in Oregon (where we are from).

Heck, I'm shocked at the outpouring of support and public affection for law enforcement. Again, not something you'd ever see in Oregon on this level.

We live in a really cool Del Webb community here, so that may be part of it, but I can say that moving to Arizona was one of the best decisions I've ever made. We absolutely love it here!

Back in my day you actually had to go house to house to get candy. Damn Gen whatever it is literally have everything handed to them, even candy!

All joking aside, that does look pretty fun.

I wish the jobs were better. My wife can work anywhere and from home. I have a limited skill set. 😂

Of course, isn't that always the case?

Florence is where all the prisons are located (there's about 10 of them I believe, federal and state) so mostly everyone here is a prison guard or a cop.

I see the prison guard billboards on the highway that goes into this town all the time. I think prison guards are in demand, because the billboard is displayed loud and proud.

Not sure I'd want to be a prison guard though.

Nope, started my career in a super max prison.

Don’t want to go back. Don’t recommend. Hard pass.

I’m qualified to run one at this point....but it’s a horrible job to do.

Our next-door neighbors in Salem (who we were very close with), well he was a prison guard at OSP. He had some super shitty hours, was on the riot team, and really seemed to dislike his job. He'd been doing it for a long time though and it had good benefits for his wife and kids, so I think that's why he kept doing it.

Anyways, yeah, those guys don't get paid enough to deal with those assholes, that's for sure.

Haha, I might know him. It’s where I worked, in the IMU building. Was on TERT as well and trained firearms and was the armory guy.

My dad still works there but is finally retiring this year.

Yes it is a shitty job. No thanks.

Yep, I gathered that it wasn't a great job. I was always shocked to hear how little he got paid as well.

He always had stories to tell about the inmates, that's for sure.

Anyways, lots and lots of prison guards down here. At the same time, with all the cops and prison guards, it's definitely a safe neighborhood, I'll say that much. I've talked to most of the neighbors on my street and so far all but one of them owns a gun. In fact, the others all own multiple guns.

Yeah, we are genuinely poor. 😂

I got stories, we all do! Most don’t like them as they think we are crazy to think it’s funny....🤷‍♂️🤣

I’m glad you have great like minded neighbors.

I don’t/want to do LE anymore so I gotta find something else.

I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t want to do LE either. As much respect as I have for them, I just couldn’t do it, especially with the constant media scrutiny.

We always did golf cart parades on the 4th of July in Washington. Before I got into Jeeps, I bought this cart from a guy in Phoenix, originally a fleet cart capable of 12 mph. A company called Arizona Sportsman converted them, lift kit, IFS, 670 cc Honda twin, off-road ATV tires on Jackman wheels, & a full cage. I added a back seat, disc brakes, roof rack & a winch. Then rigged it to tow a jetski trailer. For the parade I built a bed to go on the trailer. We could make a "float", sit a couple people, haul things, etc. One year the float had 9 dogs on it. Huge hit!
Best part is that the cart did wheelies.....at like 8 or 10 mph. Top speed almost 40. I thought when I brought it up to WA in 2009 that it would catch on & others would get into hopped up carts too. But in the 9 yrs I owned it I never saw any others....other than in AZ & SoCal.
