04 TJR “While I'm at it” Mid-Arm Build

Oh good! I've got the Poly mounts sitting in my garage with the Fox 12" LSC shocks waiting to go in next month. The shocks alone make a huge improvement.

Thats what I keep hearing. Should be on the schedule for Tuesday if everything goes Ok

Day 2 Pictures! Short day but I got some things done.

Axles are ready to be installed and I got started on the chassis. Hopefully Monday I will have the brackets welded on the frame and the old brackets removed.

looks good!

the only issue I see that could arise in the coming days is the hard brake line on the rear side of the axle, when you begin to figure out where to weld in lower shock mount when doing the outboard, those brake lines might be in the way...smarter people than I can chime in on my observation...

Yea, it’s still dry and I planned on removing them to weld. I might relocate them all together. They are much lower than I thought and I’m worried they will snag something.

I originally mounted mine exactly where you did, when @mrblaine did my outboard, he re-worked them on the front side of the axle...

Day 5 Pics. That was a learning experience! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out though. Jeep was weighted and thoroughly jounced before ride height measurements. Pinion angle was set at ride height and axle was centered. Shock body is 90 degrees from the LCA's at ride height according to my angle finder. Ended up with 5.75" up travel and 6.25" down travel. During straight tuck shocks have 3/4" inch shaft exposed. When rolling into full articulation the axle rolls onto collapsed shock at the very end of max flex. I call it a win!

Hopefully I can wrap up this project tomorrow!
