I am getting a spare parts kit to carry in my tool bag.

So far I have:
Gates Serpentine belt kit.
Gates Upper and Lower radiator hoses
Gates 195 thermostat with gaskets
NTK Temp sensor
AC Delco RY612L Relays
Spare Gas Cap
Standard Motor Products Cam shaft position sensor
Standard Motor Products Crankshaft position sensor
NTK Intake air sensor
NTK Manifold pressure sensor
NTK Throttle position sensor

What other parts should I include?

I don't know what you should include but a gas cap wont leave you stranded so you can probably toss that out of the bag. I don't know many people that carry the upper and lower hoses either but I guess it couldn't hurt. I'd carry some kind of tape instead. I also wouldn't carry a thermostat, you could always pull it and limp home. Relays I think you can swap. For me trail supplies are just enough to get to a store or home, not really a full array of repair parts you'd have in the garage.

Depends what kind of wheeling you do, but after I found myself in here...

I now carry a spare starter motor... (fortunately that one only gave out when I got home)

Tire plug repair kit
Replacement bushings for both the transmission (if you have an auto) as well as the tranfer case
A full array of zip ties
100 mph tape
MRE's, a JetBoil and a packable sleeping bag (That's a little out there, but picture yourself NOT getting off the trail and you have to overnight it)
A first aid kit, not a cheesy one, but the kind military have. Quik Clot, a CAT tourniquette, hemostatic gauze, etc
Ibuprofen, Benedryl and Nuun electrolyte tablets
A couple gallons of distilled water is good for alot of stuff

It adds up. I have a "day trip" kit and I add to that for the weeklong trips. Have fun with this and get creative. Space and weight are the only limitations to your imagination.

Thanks for the input.
I like to have spare parts on hand to fix a problem.
Having done this since I was a young guy surfing in Baja before the road was paved past El Rosario, learned to carry spare parts just in case.

Me too. At the time, pavement ended on the Sea of Cortez side at San Felipe and if I recall correctly it ended on the Pacific side at Colonet. I did the round trip to Cabo San Lucas in December and January and the only unpaved section remaining on Hwy 5 was the last few kilometers between Coco's Corner and Hwy 1.

Hwy 5 is completely paved now. Until the next rains anyway.

My favorite Baja beach from that trip, El Conejo:
