Plastic vs metal fender flares

I was all excited when I got my MCE flares today. Like many others, I had to drill out the little “spacers” out with a 3/16” drill bit. Easy. Got the rear done in about 30 minutes since I already had no rear flares. Where my install came to a halt was removing the front hood latches. They were just spinning. I would typically just cut them off, but I daily my TJ and need to keep my hood down. I ordered some new ones, just waiting on those before I cut the old ones off and install the new. Sucks, but at least the rear is done. Sorry for the dark lighting in the pictures.
