So someone hit my Jeep and didn’t leave a note, I only have liability insurance and can’t really do much, fortunately the place I parked by has cameras directly seeing what happened but I can’t check them till the boss gets there. If I get their plate I will pursue to the fullest extent.

Anyways this is the damage, what do I need to repair?

Mount the taillight again and looks like you'll be good to go. Mostly cosmetic from what I can see. People are assholes

To make it new, body shop can maybe pull some of that crease back out, skim over it and blend the paint. New fender, new fuel filler assy, may need to weld up and re-tap the taillight holes, maybe not. And I agree, people are assholes. Really hoping you can see something on the video.

Sucks man same thing happened to me in an LJ I use to have luckily I was able to figure out who hit mine. They backed in to the same corner so hard they bent an axle on mine.

I hate a thief, and in my book that's no different. Surely hope you get the asshole on legible tape! This IS why we can't have nice things. smh

Good excuse to install some corner guards. Actually, now that I think about it, every person I've known that has installed those did so instead of repairing trail damage in that area. :)

I believe that. I'll just add that a heavy dose of Fluid Film and maybe even a cup or so of grease in that dent and the seams will keep the nasty salty stuff from getting in there and working its rust job.

Those tail light cages certainly saved the light! Payed for themselves right there.
Totally sucks though, hope your able to find the peoples plate number from the video and track them down!

Bang out what you can, clean it up, and just let it be a part of the Jeep's history. Mine is a bit more wrinkly than it appears in that photo, and at least you weren't at fault. Me? I backed into a dumpster!! :D

That sucks! Hopefully they can ID who it was and get an insurance payout for the damage. Use some of that money for a new fender flare and corner guards to cover the dent, and the rest on other jeep upgrades. Some insurance companies will only cover actual repairs though instead of just cutting you a check, so let's hope their's isn't one of them.

Hope they even have insurance

That blows. Looks like you could get away with a new filler neck trim and possibly a replacement tail light depending on how it broke. Those two should be well under $100 to get you back up and running . Fender flares can be had fairly cheap too. The dent will be the expensive part to fix but like others have said it would be a good time to pop on some aluminum corner armor.

Okay so good news and bad news, cameras show the kind of car that hit my Jeep, he was parked directly behind me and swiped it really hard on his way out. I know the color make and model of the car however the camera wasn’t clear so I only got the front two letters/numbers of the license plate. With this I am going to search for the car around my
neighborhood hoping whoever did this is dumb enough to be back. I’ve seen the car around the neighborhood. I just don’t know who it’s for.

As for the Jeep, the taillight is fine. The only thing really that’s bothering me is the corner. It’s scraped and dented on the back and the side. Could I just throw a corner guard on there and it won’t show? Or do I have to fix it and then install the corner guard? I also am getting barricade fenders for the front and back.

Just my two cents based on personal experience but if you find the person/car - take additional pictures and gather your evidence together before you confront them. Make your case airtight. If they're the kind of person to up and leave after something like that, they definitely are the kind of person to lie and BS their way out of being called out.

Yep, video security camera evidence and your photo evidence of their license plate and damage on their car if they return. Tell the owner they can either fess up now and exchange insurance info or you will file a hit and run police report.

If you put corner armor on all you need to do is make sure the outer perimeter of the armor is flush with the sheetmetal. If the dent has deformed the metal or won't let the armor sit flush against the corner you can take a body hammer and work the dent a bit til the armor sits flush against the surrounding sheet metal. I'd also put some paint on that dent before bolting the armor on so it doesn't rust. But don't do anything to it til you've handled any insurance claim/police report.
