So recently i got a bestop sailcloth soft top and this weekend went wheeling with it. Tonight id like to clean the Jeep and get all the mud out of it. Any tips for getting mud out of the soft top?

Mine was looking bad after years of dirt grinding into the surface. I had tried Dawn dish soap with a brush and it didn't get the deep dirt out. I tried RaggTopp and it worked great. It smells like fish so they must use something different in it that helps break the dirt bonds with the top.

Im gonna try it with soap and a rag first but if that dont cut it ill be ordering the raggtop stuff, thanks!

I've had really good luck LA's Totally Awesome, it's cheap, cleans everything and is easy to find.

The best thing you can do before getting it muddy, is keep a quality protectant on the sailcloth that enables easy cleaning if you get it muddy. You may find it easier to remove the top from the frame and lay it out on the ground to scrub it.

Probably don't need to mention this, but don't wipe your windows on the top with a dry cloth. Always use a damp cloth etc.

I use soap and water for mine and it works just fine, although the mud takes some elbow grease. But sometimes I don't work so hard on it. Just so people know it was used as intended :)

If all I use is the car wash sponge, soap & water I end up with the weird shadows showing where all the mud was on the top & tires. I have a bathroom brush typically used for cleaning a bathtub, and always used on car tires. Lightly scrubbing the top & tires with that brush, some soap & water, cleans all those weird shadows easily.

Thanks for the advice yall! Decided to just use soap and water this time as i didnt have to but anything and it worked like a charm!

Haven't tried the 303 convertible treatment, but if it works better than the 303 regular protectant it must be super. The 303 is the bomb and last a long time.

Do you have any recommendations?

I have tried a few different convertible top products in the past and they all seem to do about the same. It's more about making it part of your normal cleaning regimen. Some last a little longer than others. We have a hard top now so it's been a few years since I have had to keep a soft top looking good.
