The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Is Here

It is pretty amazing that Dodge has been able to reinvent these cars over and over again either with new motors or packages. The base of this car is from 2011

Yeah, that is absolutely mind blowing! The only other company I can think of who has successfully been able to do this is Harley Davidson.

I see them around here and there, but don't know what is what that much. Not into big boat type cars that are fast. Prefer smaller stuff for speed, but there aren't many left. Even a 911 is pretty darn big now. Straight line 1/4 mile cars are kind of boring to me.

They keep selling too, I see 70k hellcats fairly often in Indy

Yep, I see Challengers all over, even the V6 ones.

I think that Ford and Chevy could learn something from them. Often times people don't want to see the style changed (hence the Challenger).

I love the Challenger as I own a 2015 Scat Pack. But this Charger looks great too. My Challenger is a great Muscle Car that also has lots of creature comforts. The sublime green Challenger was my compromise instead of buying a late 60s or early 70s muscle car and restoring it into a Resto mod with original looks but updated drivetrain and interior. I got the 485hp Scat Pack fully loaded for right at $40k instead of the hellcat which was $70k at the time. Way too much power for the street but I know it’s there and it sounds badass and looks badass. I’m happy with my choice. Just glad these cars did not exist when I was young or I may have killed myself with it.

Part of me wants to restore an old classic, but when I realize I could spend 70k for a Hellcat and have that classic look but with a modern drivetrain (and more power than I'd ever need), that is clearly the better decision. One of these days I'll have one!

When I got this I told myself it was OK to pay that much because I would keep it for ever..........well dang I really want a widebody now. Can I sell the Jeep to pay for it?

If you sell your jeep and everybody else’s TJs on here you could probably get a widebody then lol. Unless you have 75k laying around haha

Good point. Guess I'll be keeping the jeep (and stay married!). probably for the best.
