A/C line help

2002 Sport 4.0L

So my A/C was dead and I think it was the low side schrader valve. I replaced it, but when I pulled it out it was stuck, and I had to drill it out then use an easy out to remove it. After installing a new valve it is still leaking (a lot) and I believe it is because the valve will not seat properly. When I screw the valve into the socket it sits way low, and is very rough to screw in. So I want to replace the line. Unfortunately there is not a single Wrangler in any junk yard near me that I have called, so I need to order a new line. When I look online for the part, all the replacement parts I can find have the port in a different place and look like there is a slightly different bend to it. I think it is (OE) Part #:3463631, 55037505AC from what I can find. I found the below diagram with matching port location and bends on-line, but it did not list a part number. I have highlighted the line I need in red. You can also see it in my picture (it is removed and just sitting above where it would go).

This is all I can find online, and it seems to have a slightly different bend near the firewall side, and the port is in a different but still accessible spot.

Did Jeep maybe change the shape of the line, or is this just the wrong part? CarID shows it will fit my car (CarID Link) but I am hesitant to order it since it is shaped different than the old part. Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated.

If someone with a 4.0l 2002 could take a picture of their low side line it may help me identify if the CarID part will fit. Is your charging port near the firewall connector or down near the air box?

Where are you at in Oregon? There's a guy up in Longview that sells parts off of Portland CL.
 
I have a 2002 4.0. If you can wait till tomorrow I’ll snap some pictures in the daylight
 
Well, the replacement part I got did not fit (not even close). I don't know where to get a new one now.

I did, thank you. I actually drove up there today to pick up a factory Jack with all the mounting pieces and a battery tie down for $35 (score!), But he did not have the correct a/c line. I may end up having to have one made it get this one repaired.

Well, to close this thread out, I talked to the Jeep dealer and a local Radiator & A/C shop about the new line being the wrong shape, and they both said "yep, sometimes you just have to bend it". The replacement they both pulled up matched the new one I had found. So, I went home and took the new line to task and bent the s**t out of it to make it fit. I have evacuated the system, pressure tested and refilled it with R134a and so far so good. Thank you for all your suggestions.

So, help me in my ignorance...

Why do you need to evacuate the system to fill it but the auto parts stores sell refills that you just hook up and fill?

I am assuming that it gets you a more complete fill so, the store units are not giving you a complete system fill.
 
If you are just topping it off you can use the parts store refill because the higher than atmospheric pressure in the system will not allow air to get sucked in. I would ask "why" you seed to top it off though because it is supposed to be a sealed system. I did this 1st and it only lasted for a few days.

If you have taken the system apart you have to use a vacuum pump to pull all of the air and moisture out before you refill it (and also replace the dryer because it will become saturated when exposed to air for very long). My understanding is that if you do not pull a vacuum on the system the R134 and the air in the system mix to create an acid and it will eat the system from the inside out causing leaks where the pipes corrode.

I am not an expert, and this is the 1st car I have done the a/c on so we will see if i did it correctly over the next few months, but I received some helpful advice from mechanic friends and a very helpful local a/c repair shop. YouTube also has some good videos to watch about the process.
