My Bulldog cost me a lot more than that.

First it was a free 6 month pass that you went to the ranger’s office to get.

Then it went to an online form for the 6 month pass. You had to create an account and there was a $6 service charge.

Now it’s the online form for a 3-day Permit for $10, a 6-month Permit for $60, or an Annual Permit for $80.

I see no reason to ever get an annual permit when it’s too hot to go wheeling 5 months out of the year. Save $20 and get the 6 month permit.

It was good to at least see that they have cleaned up the area since the last time I was there. No more homeless camping out there and the trash is all gone.

Looking to putt around the trails soon. Anyone close to Superstitions or Peralta area for a meet up? Thinking next couple of weekends. I've only been on four peaks and superstition back roads trails, so beginner.

Still a few things the TJ needs (winch and sye) but I can't wait for that. :p

I’d wait until the mud dries up from all this rain we’re having. That stuff doesn’t come off easily.

Montana Mountain hard?!? I recall it being slightly more exciting than a forest service road.

No but it's on my list and close to home. All trails labels it as hard. Not sure how accurate that is
Scenic but not hard. Couple places up top and the switchbacks coming down the east end are the only variables based on erosion. Great scenic trail to take one things dry out.

I might be available the weekend of the 25-26th. Still haven't done a proper shake down on the midarm kit yet.
Would need to be on the north side though. Maybe Telegraph Line Road near Bartlett lake or Table Mesa area.

Quiet in here.

I have the next two weeks essentially off.

Telegraph line is a fun trail...let's go!

My stroker motor lost all oil pressure on the freeway recently and it's toast.

That sucks…..salvageable or are you looking for an LS?

I have one more week to work. Retiring on the 19th. Telegraph is on my list. Let’s see if I can tie up some loose ends and meet up.

Not sure what the extent of the damage is yet. But the oldest child is still depending on me for two more semesters of college before he graduates so not sure when I'll be able to actually fix it. I was really happy with the performance of the Stroker motor so I'd like to restore it to its former glory. After Christmas I'll probably pull the engine and bring it home from Storage to tear it apart and find out where I'm at.

I've seen Telegraph Line from OnX, but have never done it. Lists it as a 7 difficulty but reviewers say it's more like a 4. Is this accurate?

I'd love to go. I'm quite inexperienced however.

Whatever you heard may not be accurate after the torrential rainfall we recently had. My local hiking trails were rutted and washed out, which made me think most 4WD trails are likely much more difficult now.

I do in the front, not sure about rear. Whatever stock was for an '02 4L sport.

I think with your lift, tires and disconnects, you will probably be fine.

But if you are new, I would recommend a few other easier trails first.
