Needed to buy a few gallons to clean up the bits and pieces I removed during the repaint like the battery and cruise control trays until I realized it was going to be $64 for 2 gallons and that's nucking futs. It was like $11.99 a gallon a few years back soI looked it up and found a homebrew version that does the job well. Ordered the material and made a gallon yesterday to test it out on an overnight soak.
Material from Amazon was $40 and will make about 6 gallons.
1 gallon warm water
14oz (by weight) citric acid
5-1/2oz (by weight) sodium carbonate
1 squirt of Dawn detergent
Add citric acid to water and disolve then add sodium a litte bit at a time (it will react) when its done add a squirt of dawn.
Third pic is an 18 hour soak and a cleanup in the sink with a Scotchbrite.
