Has anyone installed a Savvy mid-arm with an OX locker?

I have an OX rear air locker and am considering a Savvy mid-arm. Looking at the Savvy rear mid-arm truss, it appears it's built around a stock rear diff cover. Since the locking mechanism is built into the OX rear cover, the OX cover is considerably thicker and doesn't look like it will fit with the truss, as it's supplied. My guess is I'd need to modify the truss to allow for the thicker cover. FWIW, I only have an OX in the back, since the front runs a stock Rubicon 44 locker.

Likely won't need to modify the truss. If you can make the truss brace bolt up to the OX cover, then you can just split the brace, extend it and weld it back together at the new front to back width. If the brace does bolt up to the cover, probably a good idea to temporarily swap on a stockish thickness diff cover to set the truss angle fore and aft.

I would guess you'd just have to modify that plate that ties into the cover but I've never actually worked on one so I'm just doing a SWAG here...

My ox has been good. 👍 There may be better options but I really can’t complain about it much.

Jerry didn't like them... And was rather vocal about them. They got a lot of bad press in the beginning due to poor cable adjustment & routing.

Mine is on the rear of my camping truck. Maybe a TJ application wasn’t ideal. Jerry sure had a way of influencing a market.

I like the design and stuck with it after building my 35 spline Dana 60. I already had the shifter system mounted so it made sense to keep using it.

I have a friend who has them front & rear in her TJ... It took the shop that did the install about 5-6 tries to finally get the cables "right"

But now that you can do air or electric they only negative that some might have is the thicker cover as far as clearance issues with either the fuel tank or steering depending on which axle we're talking about.

If you don't have a stock cover laying around you can use a spacer of the same thickness to locate it (with the ox cover off). Once you have it tacked in place you can remove the rear piece and modify it to fit the Ox cover. I had to do something similar to modify the rear truss for a Dana 35.
