Did I not have the original stock springs?

First off, I'm almost positive nothing suspension wise has been replaced on my 2004. Yanked the back springs out today and the old ones are taller than the new ones. The new ones are Moog 3229. Thoughts?
Also, are there supposed to be isolators on the bottom?

It may be an optical illusion in the picture; but is the diameter of the new coil material slightly larger (thicker) than the stock spring ?
IF it is slightly larger; the new coil spring will not compress as much as the stock coil spring.

I've had alot going on and am just now putting these back in. Are they directional? One side stands straight up and the other side does not.
