Replacing OEM Body Mount Bushings

That is neat! Do you have any more pictures or instructions as to how you did it?

Here are the some pics. I can't remember the exact details because it was 3 years ago but I removed the grille, cut out with a hole saw, somehow removed what was left in there. I think I remember the broken bolt was loose in there and using a grinding stone rotary tool tip to get what was left of the cage smoothed down flush inside. Then just ran a regular bolt, washer, nut through it.

Very clever! I might have to do something like this because the nut plate is nowhere to be found.

Good luck, not the most fun "mod" but will be nice when you get it taken care of

Do you know the size of the hole saw you used? I am thinking of first drilling a 7/16'' pilot hole from underneath the grill (through the body mount sans bushing) and through the top layer of the lower grill mount. Then I will use a right angle drill attachment with a hole saw in between the grill. This should help me avoid avoid removing the grill.

Looks to be 1 1/4". Cheap little hole saw kit from harbor freight did the trick for this. If you don't already have one, make sure you get one that is made for cutting metal, not just wood.

Make sure your pilot hole is the same size (or even smaller would probably be best) as the pilot hole arbor bit on your hole saw.

You can use that hole plug to plug up that hole if seeing the body mount bolt/nut bothers you.
