For all of our brothers out there in the west who have never had a chance to wheel back here in the East, this video is a nice taste of the hardcore stuff we have nearby.

Golden Mountain Park is about an hour east of me here in Nashville. One of my favorite parks - and quite hard core. I've wheeled here quite a bit, but it closed down about eight years ago. Last year, it was opened up again. Victor ( @gasiorv ) wheeled here a short time back. It's a little wet, but a fun watch. Golden Mountain is all about the big (slippery) rocks. Now that it is open again, I need to get back out there.

Matt's gooseneck trailer is pretty cool, but you can skip past it to get to the wheelin'. It's worth the watch.

Looks like loads of FUN....

I have been to Golden Mountain once and spent half the day getting Jeeps of the mountain. I'm not complaining, I had a good time listening to stories.

Wheelin out here in the west is fun, I do miss the trees and the water, the rain always makes the trail a heck of a lot harder. My playground was Uhwarrie or URE in Central NC. place is fun. even better after a good soaking.

Now that i’ve got my Jeep built a bit more it’d be fun to go hit the lines i was able to all those years ago

We had a big group of Jeepster-Commando guys there the same time Matt was there filming this. I'm very happy to have it open again.

It's this type of wet trail (similar to the northwest), that would make me install tons just to keep from snapping axle shafts. Not much crawling and horsepower is a big bonus. I love watching these videos along with the rock bouncer videos. Great stuff.

You hit the nail on the head, Mikey. That's a little insight as to why I built my rig the way I have.

(Although, it doesn't explain my affinity for Yellow... :):D)

I'd always thought CO had similar conditions to the PNW...

Twisting axle shafts is a thing....

This was from my last trip last November.
Park is not the biggest, but it has a lot of good stuff and close to the parking lot/camping area.

We actually had a dry weekend when we were there in November.

Not all that mud

Only muddy here after rain - probably just like CO - but it does rain here a good bit more I'm guessing. It usually dries out in the summer - we go from Spring rains & muddy - to July-August-September drought & dusty (which I much prefer). However, the last few years have been more wet than normal, so it's a bit more difficult to hit the trails dry.

This year the rain has been crazy here, I think my neighbor is building an Ark just in case.

I think the fall (Sept, Oct, Nov) is the best wheeling in the Southeast. Lower chance of rain and better temps. Spring and Summer it is always raining somewhere. I have sat on my back deck and watched it downpour in my neighbors yard on a few occasions.

Having said that, I wheel all year long and any chance I get :)
