Fuel Pump Replacement

Why use acetylene when you have 19 gallons of gasoline onboard? :D

They really do throw a nice amount of shadow free light.

On the Hemi, I run an ‘05+ pump in my ‘04 style tank, with just a slight modification to the collar on the pump assembly to get it to fit. The ‘05+ pump makes 59 psi. That pump is still available.

Since the older pumps are no longer available, I wonder what problem 59 psi pumped into an older engine would cause? Any ideas?

Correct and I purchased a pump that will supply a minimum of 49.2psi. as well as a minimum of 20gph. The maximum is 150psi and the regulator will componste for these pressures. After lots of research I found a majority of pumps would on provide 44psi MAXIMUM pressure and while your 4.0 will function adequately it will indeed be lacking in performance. Thank you for your reply.

So you bought the Carter?would like to see the idle pressure when it’s installed-thanks

Interesting! I still see plenty of Bosch 05+ pumps available. If this carter isnt up to speed I will try this. Are the 05+ for 19 gallon?

I assume so, and it should not matter as the depth of the pump assembly is variable - but I’m not positive. I run a Genright stretch tank, but it is the ‘04 style.

Yep on Amazon as was cheaper then all the other sites. Delphi is good brand but after researching like a rabid dog l find that Carter is a solid investment and getting the psi my 4.0 requiers was my main goal. Can actually feel the difference but did new rail, 12 point injectors, used a spacer so could port it and added 62mm throttle body. Still checking my mpg and will check plug color after that.
