5 Tire Rotation

I do 5 tire rotations on both my TJ and Gladiator. The pattern I use isn't shown on your post, believe it was shown in my 04 owners manual. Both rear tires go straight to the front. Front passenger to rear driver. Front driver to spare. Spare to rear passenger. Actually doesn't matter what pattern you go with, as long as you consistently use it, all tires will move around to all positions for maximum tire life.

I do a five tire rotation too. Like Ashim said, it doesn't really matter which pattern you use, as long as you're consistent.

I wonder if there is any advantage in your 3rd diagram with that X pattern. That one swaps sides with two tires each time, instead of just one side-to-side swap with most patterns.

My Dad had me read the Owners Manual of his new 1970 Toyota HiLux P/U. I was 12 when he taught me how to drive a manual transmission and back up a trailer. The diagram of the rotation was, spare to right rear, right rear to left front, left front to right front, right front to left rear and left rear to spare. I've done it like this ever since.
On a trailer with a single axle, it was, spare to right, right to left and left to spare.
And on a tandem axle trailer, it would be the 5 tire rotation.

Knock on wood that I've never (so far) have had a trailer tire blow out on the highway but, I've replaced some pretty wicked side bulges in my time. And most of those have been on the left side of the trailers.
