Replacing OEM Body Mount Bushings

Which company is doing that? I've only seen companies do all 11 but I've been wrong before.

Okay, I think I figured out my mind dilemma. The brands that I mentioned that are only including 6 mounts in their kit are not kits for a body lift. They're just a kit to replace your existing mounts, whether they be stock or some other after market mount. The intent is to keep whatever body lift or no lift that exists.

That's a different animal. Those are raised body mounts and I believe they'll require cutting off the old and welding. Can't help there as that's outside my knowledge lane. Sorry, though you were simply looking to refresh the mounts and bushings.

And I just confirmed that these TNT Customs mounts have a built 1.25" lift right out of the box.

Factory body mount locations = 5 body mounts on each side plus 1 in the front.

A proper body lift will use pucks that sit on top of the OEM body mounts.

Correctomundo. Thanks J

You’re looking for the 6 body mount brackets along the frame between the wheel wells. The ones from Genright, TNT, and Swag are replacements that are raised body mount brackets.

You want the non-raised.

So I contacted Rust Busters to ask about the thickness of their brackets. They're 11 gauge, aka 1/8". I'm on the hunt for 3/16" thick. I've seen pictures and videos of the stock brackets getting contacted by rocks and getting bent and twisted.

That’s why those of us with 1.25” BL get the raised mounts.

The other thing is the stock mounts have ears that can bend over to get out of the way. It’s not fatal if they bend. Just bend them back.

Yeah I’ll keep an eye on them for now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bumping this not-too-old thread... I'm adding a 1" Rokmen body lift soon and with 150k on the OEM body mount bushings, I figure I should change them out while I'm in there.

Linked above, I see a Crown kit from Quadratec for $200 and the same sent from Summit for $170. I don't need the bolts, so maybe I can save another $20 elsewhere. Does anyone know a cheaper source for the Crown (or other quality rubber) kit?

Replaced mine about 1.5 yrs ago with the Crown kit, sourced on Amazon.

Some of my body mount bushings are shot, so I’m looking to replace them. I don’t want to lift it any, just replace the stock ones that came on it. Someone put me in the direction a good stock bushing? It seems like there’s so many options.... I’ve been reading other posts and Savvy seems to be the way to go but I don’t see where they have the stock option.

Just bought this CROWN kit without bolts

I purchased the Crown body mount bushings with bolts for my LJ. How does the front radiator body mount bolt thread in? I am looking in the hole but I am unable to thread the bolt inside. I am trying to rule out that the thread did not rust out.

There is a nut plate captured in a square retainer so it can float side to side. Nut plate means it has threads in a flat plate. No threads means not good.
