Car pics too cool not to share

So here is one that is claimed to be real with a little "help" to blend some of it...

And then even the mags got into how to make it look real...

Yes that's real Patina before it's all cleaned up and painted/clear coated over. I guess I've seen other examples like that truck that were claimed to be "real" so I honestly don't know other than the obvious ones how to tell the difference.

I guess what's at hand is what " patina " is . I my world it isn't air brushed " rust " applied over a perfectly straightened and boarded body . The clear coat adds insult to injury . At least that's this mans opinion. Here's another real patina truck.

Some fake is better than others , I guess everyone should do what makes sense to them , and have fun.

We discussed this about 2 years ago when I'd posted a SEMA truck that had Patina on it like the truck I just posted where it'd been clear coated over. I'm guessing to preserve it? And I was questioning the WHY and when had this become the fad of our time... Sort of like the "Rat Rod" fad that is going on right now... And it's similar to the naked bikes or the bobbers which has now become a "fad" too...

I can look at how it was made and appreciate it for that but not like what it really is...

Make sense to me.

Very rare cars. I know of them because of the MoPar C-body connection and forum I used to be active on. I haven't finished the video yet, so he might have mentioned this stuff, but the stripe decal is reflective so it pops in the lights, and I think there were 6 show cars built, and one of those cars lives about a 2hr drive from me, but I've never seen it in person.

Here's some of the convo over on the C body forum.
