As I’ve done many times before with a new-to-me vehicle, I’ve started building a list of all the things my new LJ “needs”. A jack jumped to the top when I realized the empty bracket under the passenger seat should hold a jack. I’ve bought two Hi-Lift jacks for a CJ7 and JK, but rarely used them. I hated finding a good place to mount them or store them in the garage where they wouldn’t be a danger to hurt a person, pet or vehicle. Most of all, the prospect of using them always scares me. My search for an affordable everyday emergency jack any driver could use on the road and one that could serve in off-road situations after I install a lift lead me to discover the Power Mountain Tallboy Off-road Jack. I’ve had a love-hate relationship with bottle jacks that always seem to end up leaking. However, the extension parts, pad and saddles should work on replacement bottle jacks. I will post an update once I’ve received it, but wanted to share the sale price of $108 at Tractor Supply (ship-to-store) while it is still available. eTrailer has a good description and pics.
