Best Generation of Wrangler?

I owned several jeeps my 03 TJ is my favorite, and the one vehicle I drive the most. I like the size, 5 speed makes it fun to drive, and the style says True Jeep. Do not understand the hate for the first JKU or say 3.8, maybe I'm lucky. This has over 200,000 miles on it and never had any serious problems yet.
Still own it.

I love my TJ but my next one will have the 3.6.

Interesting.... While I might agree with the plastics, my 06 TJ has by FAR been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. There isn't even a close 2nd

I dunno why but I just can't like the 3.6L. Maybe it's because I'm used to the low end torque of the 4.0L and various V8 Grand Cherokees I've owned and driven, but I was shocked when I found out the HP rating the 3.6L has. I get it, you need to rev it out pretty high to get the power out of it, but just feels kinda weird in a Jeep.

If you have to rev it to get power out of it, its useless in a Jeep - or pretty much anything that I personally would want to drive. I want low end grunt...

Agreed; all the CJs and Wranglers are generically “Jeeps” and may be referred to individually as such or by their two-letter designation.

Any other model sold under the Jeep brand should be referred to by its model name or two-letter designation, never by the name “Jeep.” (With an occasional waiver granted to XJ’s)
