We bought this the back in April, was supposed to be a first vehicle for my step son. We had to get him another Tj with a good title. We’ve been fighting to get the title squared away with the dealer. After getting an attorney involved today we were able to title and register this jeep. Now I can continue to fix it up. I’m sure I’ll be more active in the weeks ahead lol. Can’t wait to get it finally on the road. 7 months of anguish.

What was the problem with the title?

It was a copart Jeep originally, sold to a dealer. The original title was signed in the wrong spot, Mass RMV didnt like the paperwork , Copart fixed the paperwork, then we found there was another title applied for that was newer but never supplied by copart. Then copart stopped responding. Had to sue them and the dealer until the dealer worked something out with the registry, how that happened I don’t know but as long as i could title it in my name and legally register it. I’m happy. Beware of buying from Copart.

At least you didn't get arrested for grand theft auto...

WOW, i pretty much had to deal with similar issues. I had to keep it inside until it was figured out. At least in Mass you cannot sell a vehicle without a valid title., So I had that on my side. Now I have to get it all ready to go in the winter time, kinda sucks but, it’s now over.

Glad it worked out for you. I had a similar issue when I bought an XJ from a dealership. They never even had the out of state title to send me. I got 30 day temp tags for 3 months until I threatened them with legal action. You gotta love the commonwealth states.
